If you're worried about having company over for the holidays and busting your butt to get the whole house cleaned, here's what they are most likely to notice about your home.

If you dread the idea of family or friends judging you on how clean or well-decorated your home is when you have them over, here's what they are most likely to notice.

1. A clean bathroom. Put out fresh towels and have extra TP in a basket or cabinet, a subtly placed plunger, some room spray, wipe down surfaces, and have a lit candle.

2. No clutter. Find a basket and throw car keys, all the remotes, mail, etc. into it, then hide it in a room no one will enter.

3. The entryway. This, of course, is the first place your guests will see, so provide a coat rack, umbrella stand, and an ottoman or other place for your guests to sit if they are spending a minute or two taking off boots to put on shoes, or checking their makeup.

4. Fresh flowers. This could be your best decoration. Eyes will be drawn to the beauty of them, and the smell as well.

5. A well-stocked bar. It's great if you can greet your guests by offering them a drink. If you have all of the basics on hand, you'll get your guests off to a nice start.

What do you think is the most important thing to do when preparing for company?
