Lobster! Shrimp! Crab Legs! Clams! Oh, and Aligator!

It is a family tradition that each and every year since they were little, my boys and I ride our bikes (okay it was wagons and strollers when they were younger) to the NJ Seafood Festival in Belmar.

It's one of those special times where you just know you are making great memories. Just to be on the ocean and lake, eating the freshest of seafood, listening to great music, shopping through the tents, and soaking up the family fun....it can't be beat.

And yesterday (Sunday) was the weather everyone had been hoping for. Families with giant tents and umbrellas and beach blankets soaked up the sun, the drawn butter, and the great performances...including one from the MHS Jazz Band that had people up and dancing.

Belmar...thank you for rushing to get the area surrounding the lake fixed up enough and in time to host one of the greatest festivals in the country!

And here's some cool news: Even though there was crazy rain on Friday and a soggy Saturday, Sunday, the last day of the Seafood Festival, shattered the previous attendance records! Over 200,000 people attneded the festival this year!
