Get your tickets to see some great new films!

The Boardwalk Film Festival has an amazing lineup of films for its first annual event. You'll get to see any of 58 films in a variety of genres during the two-day fest this weekend, Sept. 17th and 18th.

Film screenings take place at the Jersey Shore Arts Center and at The Saint. Tickets and a full schedule can be found BY CLICKING HERE.

1100 film entries from over 70 countries were considered for the festival. The roster chosen exemplifies the best that the indie film world has to offer. This festival will be showing a healthy number of films from our local area, mixed in with film from around the country and the rest of the world.

Every film screening is expected to have at least one filmmaker in attendance for an audience Q&A after the film. Many of these films will be having their World Premieres, and most of them will be having their first NJ screening. All of the films selected for the festival have met two standards required by the festival rules: they display extraordinary storytelling and they do so without relying on excessive violence for their dramatic energy.

Headlining the festival will be a quartet of feature-length films, including a documentary called Quiet Please by Long Branch filmmaker Jeffrey Scott Gould, about the strange and difficult world of Misophonia, where sufferers are tortured by ordinary everyday sounds. Reaching out to a community that has long suffered in anonymity, this film brings empathy and humanity with touching stories of the struggles that Misophonia victims endure on a daily basis.

Also screening in the festival is Daddy Don't Go, produced by Keryn Thompson, an Asbury Park native. It features four young urban fathers as they struggle over a two-year period to break the stereotype and do right by their children.

Festival attendees will also enjoy two parties while visiting Asbury Park. Saturday's bash takes place at 10 pm at the Beach Bar on the boardwalk, and Sunday's closing night party will follow the festival's awards ceremony at 8 pm at The Saint. Both events will feature live entertainment.
