Asbury Park Police Officers on bikes find man who stole $15,000 in tools
Two Asbury Park Police Officers on bikes find a man wanted for allegedly stealing $15,000 in tools from a construction site on Lake Avenue.
The department said they had passed on pictures of the suspect to officers and two of them saw 74-year old Andray Glover of Asbury Park heading down Springwood and Atkins Avenues.
It all took place on Monday when APPD was notified of a burglary and theft that had taken place and by that afternoon bicycle patrol officers Kevin Gutierrez and Tess Martin saw a man matching the suspect’s description, detained him and notified the detective bureau.
Asbury Park Police later learned that Glover had an active warrant out of Passaic County for burglary and so after his arrest, he was brought to the Asbury Park Police Headquarters for processing then to the Passaic County Jail where he remains pending a court appearance.
Asbury Park Police Detective’s Anthony Troublefield and Lemar Whittaker spoke to him prior to that and that's when they received a confession from Glover who admitted entering the property unlawfully and removing various tools, some of which have been recovered.
