The April food drive in Monmouth County has brought in over five tons for The Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties...record-breaking totals! And it's not too late for you to help.
This year's design was a replica of Manasquan High School, using 2,500 cans that will go to the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
Anyone with a set of wheels (from bike to stroller!) is invited to the last leg of the journey as the riders are greeted in front of Manasquan High School. From there you can ride with them and cheer them on to Sea Girt, all for a great cause. And it all ends with an ocean plunge!
This morning, we had a chance to meet and talk to this year's Arthritis Foundation Youth Honoree, 4 year old Sadie Ribot, along with her mom, Melissa and this year's medical honoree, Dr. Dickerson, as well as Director of Community Development, Katy Bazerque. It was great spending time with them and was a real inspiration to want to help the Arthritis Foundation..and you can, by being part of the 2012 Arthritis Foundation Walk.
The "Hirtes Hike" is an annual charity event by the Toms River North Boys Lacrosse team. The event was originally created for Mrs. Maureen Hirtes who lost her battle with cancer and was the mother of eleven children. Now other families in the area are in desperate need. And you can help.

Comedian and actor Jeff Norris stopped into the show this morning to talk about a very cool event coming up on June 23rd to benefit the Molly Marie Angel Fund at Brick Veterinary Hospital that will help pay for procedures for people who may not be able afford them.

We had a great opportunity to speak with members of the Preformomg Arts Academy at the Ocean County Vocational Technical School yesterday on the morning show and they gave us the details on a great event they've put together for this weekend.
When the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties asked me to fill in for my good friend Big Joe Henry as master of ceremonies for their Humanitarian Gala, May 4th at Eagle Oaks Golf and Country Club in Farmingdale, I was thrilled. I know how committed Joe is to that great organization, and I am as well.
This special annual paddleout and fundraiser is in memory of Greg T. Hickman of Leonardo, who died from cancer on his 16th birthday.
Once again I was able to see first hand how incredibly generous the wonderful people of Monmouth and Ocean counties can be when it comes to helping a great cause, like the Childhood Leukemia Foundation.
