Korean butchers are being encouraged to do something other than farm dogs for meat.

These three beautiful animals were almost used for the unthinkable. But now is your chance to adopt them. Check out their pictures.

The precious dogs were rescued from a dog meat farm in Wonju, South Korea and are available for adoption at the Camden County Animal Shelter in Gloucester Township.

It is unbelievable to think of the odds these dogs have overcome to survive and then make the long trip to NJ because of the love of those who wanted to save them from becoming, well, food.

The sweet animals have had complete testing and veterinary care in order to enter the U.S. They have also had extensive behavior rehabilitation and training to be ready for adoption.

Joey (pictured above) is the Golden Retriever. She is a year old, weighs 50 pounds, and loves playing with toys and other dogs. She is a little unsure of loud noises and people, needs leash training and is very food-motivated, which is great for training.

Liberty is the Siberian Husky. She is between one and two years old, 60 pounds, and really opens up around other dogs. She is picky with food and doesn't like to share her toys. She needs leash training and is unsure around new people, but will accept touching.

And Tisha is the Tosa Inu (Japanese Mastiff.) She is between two and three years old and 60 pounds. she loves people and toys, and is very curious. She is good on a leash but picky with food and unsure of new dogs. She is currently on pain medication because of an old injury to her back leg.

If you would like to visit these animals and fill out an adoption application, the Camden County animal Shelter is at 125 County House Road in Blackwood. Call 856-401-1300 ext. 102 or CLICK HERE for more info.
