If you want to become 13% more productive at work, the key may be to not be at work at all.

A recent study says workers are 13% more productive if they work from home. The study, reported at msn.com used 255 workers and found that the stay at home workers outperformed their counterparts at the office.

After a snow day that most of us had this week, you may wonder how that could be, with all the distractions around the house. In the study, which lasted 9 months, it turns out those who stayed home took less breaks and sick days.

There is a surprising down side to the results, however. It turns out most people given the option to work from home ultimately want to get back to the office. Half of the people who worked from home decided to return to the workplace, and 75% of the people who, at the beginning of the study were willing to work from home, decided to stay at the office as well. The reason?  They were lonely at home. See, your co-workers really do like you!
