Egg Decorating Fun

I was never an arts-and-crafty mom. Too messy. So I guess I had been depriving my son all these years with some simple fun.

Benj's friends and their moms, who are wonderful girlfriends of mine, all got together Saturday evening....there was a birthday involved, and then it turned into some egg-dying fun.

Benj looked at me with this face like "What is THIS?".... and that's when it dawned on me that I had never dyed eggs with him. For all of the traditions we have done year after year, this one never took off for us.

Could me the messy cups full of colored water that could have spilled everywhere, the patience and creativity you need to make a colorful egg, or the little wire-holder that requires a steady hand or it can too easily lead to a splattered egg and mess.

And I had totally forgotten about the wax crayon. Brought back some childhood memories for me.

But I must say we had a great time...moms and sons alike...with laughter and bonding and fun. Guess it's never too late!
