16-year-old Robby Murphy has organized an event where you can run with your dog(s) to benefit the Monmouth County SPCA.

"Run for the Animals" is the event thought up by Robert when he was 12-years old...and it's become so successful (and now in its fifth year) that he has raised thousands for the MCSPCA!

This year 's race will be held on Saturday, May 11th, 2013, at Monmouth Battlefield Park and is shaping up to be the biggest yet!

Robby is the largest contributor to the MCSPCA under the age of 18 with the 2011 race proceeds reaching $7,000!

Registration for the 5th Annual Run for the Animals 3K and 40 yard Doggie Dash is currently underway with a $10 entrance fee. The fun gets underway at 9:45 am with the Cutest Dog Contest, followed by the Best Dressed Contest. The Doggie Dash starts at 10:15 am and all dogs must be registered for the dash with a $1 fee, must be on a leash, and accompanied by their owner at all times.

While dogs need to be signed up for the dash, they can run in the 3K for free with their owners when the race starts at 10:30 am.
