Grandpa’s Secret for Longevity

Grandpa turned 93(!) today and is looking as good as ever. Naturally I had to ask him if he had any secrets on getting that far.
In case you missed it last time, Grandpa Dom told me he made himself a screwdriver because he didn’t want his orange juice to go bad.
At his birthday dinner this weekend, I asked him if he had any plans for his actual birthday today, and he said, ‘I might have to buy more orange juice…’
Apparently, I missed what he said right after, but thankfully Duzzy caught this gem, ‘I’m runnin’ a little low on vodka…cuz my tooth hurt…and the dentist couldn’t do nothin’ about it…’
Cut to today, when I ask him his secret to a long life…he laughed, and said, ‘
‘I don’t know, I don’t have any right now. You want me to think of one?’ To which I responded, ‘Lots of orange juice?’
He said, ‘Well, I got my jar of cherries with vodka…’
That must be it. Check out why he had them though:

The man is the greatest. Happy Birthday, Grandpa!
Grandpa Dom is 93 years young, and after living most of his life in Brooklyn, has been living in Manalapan for nearly 20 years. He’s an Army vet, worked as a butcher for many years, then worked as a technician for the US Postal Service. A widower, a father of two, grandfather of four, great-grandfather of one…he’s the man.
