Restaurant Nicholas in Red Bank was ranked as the third most expensive restaurant in the Garden State. Why? Selections from their tasting menu are $140 with wine.

That being said, Restaurant Nicolas was Zagat's Number 1 Pick for Food, Service, Most Popular & Wine List in NJ.

How good does this dish sound? Potato gnocchi, fried shallots, smoked poblano with cave aged cheddar crème. Pair that with recommended 2014 Santa Maria Valley, Chardonnay, Juliana Layla, and I'm in heaven. They've also got a $1700 bottle of wine if you're in the mood to splurge.

Number 9 on this list was Raven and The Peach in Fair Haven.
