Whether you are texting, fiddling with the radio, or yelling at your kids, police are cracking down on distracted driving in our state.

For the next few weeks, police will be on the lookout for anything that is distracting you behind the wheel -- from talking on the phone to putting your makeup on....grabbing your drink or munching on something -- if it causes you to drive dangerously and you are pulled over, you could be getting a summons for distracted driving.

Texting and driving is bad. Talking on your phone without hands-free technology is bad. But what about all the other reasons you see people driving erratically? Well, they are illegal, too. Whether you're lighting a cigarette or trying to adjust your defrosters, anything that takes your eyes off the road long enough to swerve, speed, slow down, or put someone in danger can get you pulled over and lead to a ticket.
