Tomorrow night's Powerball jackpot has surged to $550 million, making it the 3rd largest in jackpot history.

So how can you increase your chances of winning?

Well, listen, I think if any of us really knew the answer to that, we'd be sitting on an island somewhere using dollar bills as kindling.

However, in a game where the odds of winning the jackpot are more than 1 in 175 million, we'll try anything to up our chances, right?

Obviously, you have to be in it to win it, and while it only takes one $2 ticket, the more you buy, the better your odds.

That being said, Powerball is a numbers game, so if you're not going Quick Pick, then go with strategy!

Since January of 2012, when they last changed the game, the red Powerball number 29 has come up most often (10 times.)

As for the most common winning white balls: 23 (19 times), 56 (18 times), 8 (17 times), 3, 6, and 26 (all chosen 16 times.)

So... 3/6/26, 8, 23, 56, and Powerball 29 are apparently the best bet.

The least chosen white balls? 2 (4 times), 25, and 37 (both 6 times.)

The least chosen Powerball numbers are 9, 15, 19, and 31 (all only chosen once.)

When it comes down to it, there's no way to guarantee a win, but it can't hurt to try, right?

The $550 million jackpot numbers will be drawn at 10:59 pm tomorrow, and in NJ, you can only buy tickets until one hour before the drawing.

Did you miss that? You have until 9:59 p.m. tomorrow to buy your Powerball tickets in NJ!

And in case you were wondering, the current cash option payout is $350.1 million...and is expected to increase by tomorrow night.

Mmmhmm. I KNOW.

Good luck to everyone who's playing (but only if you intend to pay off my student loan, otherwise, frig you, that's my money!)

Are you in a Powerball pool or buying tickets yourself? What's the first thing you would do with the money?
