According to Howell Police, the accident happened on Rt. 547/Squankum Rd. at Alexander Ave., and caused businesses and traffic lights along Rt. 9 in the area to lose power.

They report that power to most traffic lights and businesses has been restored at this point, but they still advise motorists to avoid Rt. 9 south of I-195.

JCP&L's outage map suggests an estimated full restoration time of 2:30 p.m.

Until the power is completely restored, use extreme caution while driving in the area, and remember that EVERY vehicle is supposed to stop at an intersection when traffic lights aren't working. (That means no flying down Rt. 9 just because the lights are out.)

Be safe!
