Coming up this month, a chance for you to be part of something very cool, and all to raise money for a good cause!

On Sunday, October 25th at 7 a.m., a human chain will form from Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune down Rt. 33 towards Ocean Grove, where it will end at the home of women's cancer respite charity Mary's Place by the Sea.

They are hoping for 3000 people to be part of the event, called "From Health Care to Wellness."

They are asking all participants to wear pink, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and to bring a $10 donation to Mary's Place by the Sea.

That donation will help Mary's Place advance in the Revlon Million Dollar Challenge, which has charities nationwide competing to raise the most funds this month through Crowdrise. The winning charity gets an additional $1 million! (In this case, that million dollars would basically pay for the majority of the new Mary's by the Sea handicap-accessible facility, and allow the charity to keep providing amazing services to women with cancer absolutely free of charge!)

Mary's Place by the Sea is currently in second place in that challenge, but if they got 3,000 people to come to this event, each with a $10 donation, they have a real shot at winning the $1 million!

This human chain event is something great for local teams and schools to be a part of, and it would be amazing to see what such a small donation from each person can do.

Let's bring that money home to Jersey!
