Asbury Park has a brand new restaurant that everyone is talking about!

AP Chophouse is located inside the Berkley Hotel and is Asbury Park's premier steakhouse.

The kitchen is lead by Executive Chef John D'Amelio. Most recently at Cuba Libre in Philadelphia, Chef has made stops in New Orleans, Dallas, and Florida, and he's excited to be back at the Jersey Shore.

Last Friday, Chef D'Amelio brought a spread to the New Jersey Natural Gas Asbury Park Studio for me to sample.

First up, Indonesian jumbo lump crab cake with creamy corn sauce. No fillers here. Indonesian crab is the largest and sweetest crab in the world.

Next, a burrata with charred heirloom tomato gazpacho. This delicious buffalo milk mozzarella was so tasty!

Chef D'Amelio feels presentation is just as important as taste. His 'Fire & Ice' app is proof of that. Spicy ahi tuna tartar is topped with mango sorbet inside a coconut shell. This plate literally smokes when it hits your table.

And now, the main event. The 40oz Tomahawk Ribeye! This is one of the 'steaks for two' options on the AP Chophouse menu. It was perfectly seasoned and perfectly tender.

The chef's menu is simple but refined. That's why AP Chophouse is perfect for any occasion.

AP Chophouse inside the Berkley is just a few steps from the hotel pool and another few steps from the Asbury Park Beach. Check out the menu and make your reservations this summer!

Thanks to Chef John D'Amelio and his crew for stopping by the Boardwalk Studio!
