What are your tips for the best things to cook on the campfire, and must-haves for both adults and kids in terms of gear, things to do, and what to look for in a campsite?

I would love to take my boys camping, but I have never done it and I need your help! From tent vs. cabin or those round teepee-like structures to what to cook on the campfire, to favorite activities and choosing a campsite, please help me get started!

Some friends of mine set off with their four kids on their annual summer camping trip and spoke about everything from chicken kabobs to S'mores for the grill.

I have also heard some suggestions such as pre- and partial boiling of chicken parts to throw on the grill within 2 days, veggies and onions wrapped in aluminum foil with a pat of butter, and sugar cones to hold the pre-made chocolate and marshmallows for easy and less messy S'mores at the campsite.

Please share your tips!
