It is almost time.

The 2nd 30-Hour Coffin Challenge at Six Flags Great Adventure kicks off this Sunday and I got to interview Kerri Platt from Forked River who will be one of the contestants!

And Ms. Platt has one message for her competitors: "I'm not giving up!" If you are one of the people who are planning to go against her, make sure you are ready.

I participated in this challenge last year but if you take a look at the rules, Six Flags is looking to make it much harder.

Here is a reminder of all the information that you need to know:

From 1:00 PM on Sunday October 13th until 7:00 PM on Monday, October 14th, six contestants will be living inside of a coffin (yes, including their meals).

But this year, there will be a bit of a twist.

According to a press release from the park, participants will be able to compete in "inside challenges" which will include, "'live bugs, pungent food items and trivia,' in an effort to earn points, penalties and a 'Get Out of the Coffin Card.'"

The rules are also a bit tougher - participants can only leave their coffin for 13 minutes at a time every three hours to use the restroom and check their phone. (Last year, participants could leave their coffin once every hour)

In addition, contestants will, "receive unexpected visits from snakes, spiders, skunks, other members of the animal kingdom," and other Fright Fest performers. Yikes.

And just a heads up, don't expect to sleep. Last year, that was one of the biggest rules and since it sounds like Six Flags is making this challenge more difficult this year, I would prepare accordingly.

Six Flags did reveal that they will play musical selections such as "Baby Shark" and other classics on repeat overnight so you are forced to stay awake, even if you don't want to.
