WPIX is reporting that two firefighters were injured after getting trapped when a massive fire caused a commercial building in Keyport to partially collapse Friday afternoon.

Officials say the 4-alarm fire started at a commercial building on 43 W. Front St.

The firefighters were rescued and rushed to the hospital where their injuries are unknown.

UPDATE: 4/9/16: According to reports from The Monmouth County Fire Marshal, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, the Keyport Police Department and the Keyport Fire Bureau, a four-alarm fire on West Front Street in Keyport destroyed three adjoining buildings and sent six firefighters to the hospital.

The fire was reported at 3:34 p.m. on Friday where nearly 200 firefighters fought to contain what onlookers were saying looked like "a towering inferno.”

The injured firefighters were taken to Bayshore Community Hospital. The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office says their injuries were not life-threatening.

Investigations as to what caused the blaze are ongoing.
