A school bus driver was caught driving drunk with 20 students aboard on Wednesday near Chestnut Street and Vermont Avenue in Lakewood.

At 8:30 AM, an officer responded to the report of a road race incident and when the bus driver interacted with the cop, alcohol could be smelled on his breath, he was slurring his speech, and had bloodshot eyes.

Fifty-four-year-old Angel Colon was charged with driving under the influence and endangering the welfare of children and was therefore brought to the Ocean County Jail.

No comment was made by the company Colon works for.
