Back in August, we broke the news that Best Buy in Howell was closing. They shut their doors in November. Now we're getting hints that a new grocery store will be opening on the site. Could it finally be a Wegmans?

Nope. According to Patch, a laser-eyed member of the Howell Happenings NJ Facebook page (a great page to like if you're live in the area, by the way) noticed that when visiting Paramount Realty Services it listed grocery chain Lidl as the retailer that would be taking the place of the now vacated Best Buy at 4250 Route 9, aka Howell Plaza.

Word spread quickly and as of Tuesday morning, the reality site has removed any mention of Lidl and is instead back to a picture of the existing Best Buy building.

The Patch reached out to both Paramount Realty Services and Lidl for comment and as of this writing, they have not heard back.

It wouldn't be shocking if the German-based grocery store did indeed open on that site. Lidl has recently opened in Hazlet, Eatontown, and soon they will be in Ocean County in Lacey Township.
