This is the weirdest year ever, and that means it included the weirdest summer ever, and now that it's gone, I have a few things to say to it.

So here's my open letter to our Jersey Shore summer of 2020...

Dear Summer 2020,

You were very weird to me. I couldn't wait until you got here and we did the best we could with you, but I have to admit, part of me is really glad you are gone. There are things about you I can't wait to forget. But there are things about you that I want to remember, too. You're very complicated, summer of 2020.

You did remind us that here at the Jersey Shore we are, well, Jersey Strong. We always knew it. We proved it during Sandy and you reminded us of it this year. I know that's a bit of a reach, but for that we should be appreciative.

We were also able to make more summer out of you than most people thought we would. It was pretty great seeing all our Jersey Shore friends at the boardwalk each Friday morning making the best of a tough situation.

There's no doubt that there are a lot of things we would change about you, and I'm not sure anyone would choose you over a normal summer at the Jersey Shore. We hope that no other summer in the future tries to be like you.

So, we say goodbye to a tough relationship with you. I think we're both better off without each other. But it's certainly been interesting.
