Apartments, Restaurants and More Being Planned in Manalapan
Pier Village in Long Branch is like it's own town inside of a town. If one developer has his way, there will be a similar, but massive addition in Manalapan.
Speaking to APP.com, real estate developer Vito Cardinale of Cardinale Enterprises is hoping to get approval on Manalapan Crossing and bring a "downtown" to a rural area of Manalapan on Route 33 and Millhurst Rd.
What's being planned? 900 apartments that will sit atop upscale restaurants and stores. Not to mention a brain research facility and an amphitheater that will serve as an ice skating rink in the winter. This is a huge undertaking. It will occupy 123 acres of land and cost a quarter billion dollars. Vito's vision is much like what Long Branch has in Pier Village.
He anticipates the development will create approximately 1,151 permanent jobs.
The project has yet to be approved by township officials.
