Whether you are in need of food and supplies for your pets or if you are in a position to help, here are the latest details:

In the wake of the hurricane, the Monmouth County SPCA continues to collect donations to help the animals of displaced families in our area as well as the animals that reside at the Homeward Bound Adoption Center.

In addition to the extra donations needed, the Monmouth County SPCA Maureen O'Brien Thrift Store will be temporarily converted to serve as the Pet Pantry emergency pet food distribution center.

The center will be open daily seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for families that are in need of emergency pet food or some related supplies as well as for accepting any of the items from their urgent donation list. If you are unable to travel to the Eatontown address and are in need of pet food for your animals please call 732-542-5342 for help.

It is because of your donations that the Monmouth County SPCA is able to help keep families together that are hurting from the hurricane. Please help them continue on their mission by continuing to donate to the animals and their loved ones.

If you are able to help support the pet relief efforts, the Monmouth County SPCA is in desperate need of:

Paper towels, cat litter, litter pans, towels, sheets, blankets, leashes and collars, dry dog and cat food, canned dog and cat food, one-gallon food storage bags, and pet carriers.

If you want to help and are unable to get to a drop-off site or one of the SPCA's locations (Eatontown and Freehold) you can text mcspca to 50555 to make a $5 donation to make a difference.

The Eatontown Homeward Bound Adoption Center is open 7 days a week for donations from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. until all the power is restored, and for adoptions from noon to 4 p.m. daily.

The Pet Pantry (located in the thrift store) is open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
