According to a recent study, our roadway situation here in the Garden State might be even worse than even we imagined. And we already thought it was pretty bad.

The report was published at Construction Coverage, and their data suggests that our roadway experience here in New Jersey is among the absolute worst in the entire nation.

The statistics are pretty sobering for the Garden State. Here is some of the data the research revealed for drivers in our state.

In New Jersey, over one-third of our major roads are considered to be in poor condition. That number is the second highest in the nation, ahead of only Rhode Island, making us the state with the second worst roadway conditions in the nation.

And that's just the roadway conditions. That isn't even factoring in all the construction and congestion we all encounter on a daily basis. If those items were included in the study, we'd almost definitely be giving Rhode Island a fight for the top spot.

And we are not alone in the tri-state area on this least either. Both New York and Pennsylvania earned their spots as well. According to the report, New York ranks as the state with the sixth worst road conditions, and Pennsylvania comes in at #15.

So, buckle up and get ready for a bumpy ride, literally, if you're driving in New Jersey.
