NJ Zombie Walk 2015 Guide
Johnny McGillion, owner of Johnny Mac's in Asbury Park wasn't about to let another town take Zombie Walk, so he bought the rights. Now the City Council has approved the event and the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce and Madison Marquette are working hard for next weekend's Zombie Walk. There are some changes for 2015, so here's a guide to help you navigate through the walking dead.
When is Zombie Walk?
Saturday October 3rd from 12-8 p.m.
When and where does the walk start?
4 p.m. on the Asbury Park Boardwalk. We suggest starting at 94.3 The Point's NJ Natural Gas Boardwalk Studio in between 3rd and 4th.
What is the Zombie Walk route?
From the boardwalk, the brainless will crawl up the boardwalk to Asbury Avenue and continue onto Cookman Avenue. According to Economic Director Tom Gilmour, the walk will end one block further from Main Street. In previous years, the walk concluded at Main Street.
How many people are expected to attend?
City officials are estimating 5,000. In past years it's been closer to 10,000+. However, because of the status of this year's event being up in the air they are expecting less.

Are there any changes to this year's event?
The judging ceremony at Press Plaza where awards and trophies were previously handed out is not happening this year.
However, organizers have rented Merchant's Park where there will be a DJ and other activities.
During the Walk, all participants are encouraged to remain in character as zombies, lurching, shambling, dragging limbs and communicating only in a zombie-like manner (such as grunting, groaning, moaning and slurred calls for “brains”.) Zombie Walks are always free events. With the exception of Zombie Pub Crawls, most walks are family-friendly, so participants of all ages are welcome to join in the fun.
