We all have our go-to for subs. I swear if you say hoagie, I'm gonna...sorry. Are these two sub shops the best in all of Monmouth and Ocean Counties?

Peter Genovese is NJ Advanced Media's resident foodie, and he went county-by-county in New Jersey to crown the best sub.

Did Peter get it right? Here are his picks:

MONMOUTH COUNTY - NEIL'S KITCHEN / LONG BRANCH

I've never been to Neil's, but after browsing their Instagram, I'm totally checking them out. According to Peter Genovese:

Long Branch has long been overlooked as a food destination; maybe if more folks find out about Neil's Kitchen, that will change. Bread is key to any sub; owner Neil Jordan uses excellent crusty bread from Giannella in Paterson.  He makes his own soups, too. The Roasted Chicken Dinner sub, with homemade stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce, is a standout.

Honorable mentions went to Mike's Giant Subs in Keyport and Sorrento's Subs in Freehold.

OCEAN COUNTY - JOE LEONE'S ITALIAN SPECIALTIES / PT. PLEASANT BEACH

Not only is Joe Leone's a perfect choice by Peter for their subs, but the rest of Joe's cuisine is amazing. What's better, Joe Leone is always giving back to the community.

Honorable mentions for Ocean go to Driftwood Deli in Toms River (I grew up on Driftwood) and Sub Doctors in Toms River.
