The annual Toms River Halloween parade is one of the biggest and best in our area, but this year police say they won't allow a major tradition that comes with it.

For the 2016 parade, you won't be able to leave chairs out on sidewalks and curbs along the parade route to reserve your viewing spot before October 31st.

The Asbury Park Press reports that chairs left out before then constitute a safety hazard and will be confiscated by police.

Seeing the chairs lined up along Main and Washington Streets is a unique (and perfectly creepy) local Halloween experience on its own, so it will be a little odd not to have that this year, but it will certainly be interesting to see how locals handle it...

Can we expect to see chairs lined up starting at midnight? Will it create more of a rush to get a 'good spot' on parade day? Would you be willing to stay/get up that late to set up your chairs?

We'll see how it all plays out when the 78th annual TR Halloween parade rolls through downtown at 7 p.m. on the 31st! (Rain date: November 1st)
