So Ocean County College is taking the extreme state of the world into consideration and has made some changes for their tuition fees that will officially start for the Fall 2020 semester.

Tuition will now include the cost of books and most other fees including a student fee, tech fee, IMAT or registration fees.

H-A-L-L-E-L-U-J-A-H!!! But where was this when I was in school?!?! Nowadays, textbooks or fees for online classes can all come out to nearly $1,000 PER SEMESTER!!!

This is a change that is LONG overdue and I hope that this change is put into affect at all other universities.

And this next piece of information makes it even better....

Keep in mind that in the past, financial aid and other scholarships have helped to cover the cost of books and other fees. With this new rule change, more money will be available to financially aid students throughout their college career.

This means that the OCC will locate and provide course materials for all students that will be available on the first day of class.

We never had all of our materials for the first day of class. You would go in for "Syllabus Week" -- you remember that easy first week of every semester? Ahhh, the good old days -- you would find out the resources you needed to buy, and then a week and a half in is when the bulk of the work would start.

You go in. Get started. Do your work. And get out.

I hope all of the students reading this can now let out a mini sigh of relief.
