Overcrowding on NJ Transit’s North Jersey Coast Line forced a temporary suspension in service on Monday morning.

Trains whizzed by passengers waiting at stations north of Woodbridge as the cars filled up early. NJ Transit urged customers to drive to Metropark instead where buses will take them to Hoboken, Midtown and Lower Manhattan.

Meanwhile, New Jersey Transit is running special bus service to move commuters across the Hudson River one week after Sandy forced the shutdown of mass transit services.

The plan calls for moving bus passengers from park-and-ride hubs to give them access to light rail and ferries in Hoboken, Weehawken and Jersey City.

Details are available at njtransit.com.

Limited train service is available on the Northeast Corridor between Trenton and New York. North Jersey Coast Line trains are running between Woodbridge and New York. Raritan Valley trains are operating between Raritan and Newark. Main Line trains are carrying passengers from Suffern, N.Y., to Secaucus.

The Atlantic City line has reopened.

Service has been restored on over 90 percent of the normal bus routes.
