Parkway Exit 88 is Closing

A quick way to hop on Route 70 in Lakewood is going away forever at 7 o'clock tonight.

Exit 88 on the GSP will vanish for good as part of the Parkway's project to restore shoulders between Wall and Toms River and widen existing lanes.

Traffic to Route 70 will diverted to a new service road at 89. Signs will tell drivers to use Interchange 89 to reach Route 70 from the Parkway south. Work to close Interchange 88 will begin Monday evening and will be finished before rush hour Tuesday morning.

Those drivers who exit at Interchange 89 will pay a toll, but the change will not affect the toll amount paid.
