Sandcastles and Fun in Belmar

Yet another Jersey Shore Tradition…the annual Sandcastle Contest! Congratulations to some local winners:
Hundreds of amateur sandcastle sculptors came to Belmar from near and far for the 26th annual sandcastle competition this past Wednesday.
The winning family was from Pennsylvania with a sculpture named “Shark vs. Octopus”. Congratulations to some of our area winners, too…
In the ages 7 and younger category, Ava Verine of Wall took second place for “Lifeguard Turtle” and Frankie Novello of Jackson took third for “Frankie’s Fish”.
In the ages 8 – 11 category, Grace, Isabelle and Helen of Wall took first place for “Flip Flop”, and Team 10th Ave. of Belmar took third for “Olympic Tribute”.
In the ages 12 -15 category, Steffie and Grace of Sea Girt took second place for “Sea Lion”, and Sarah, Montana, Allie and Emma of Colts Neck took third for “Krusty Krab”.
In the Group/Day Camp category, Pink Animal Clan of Belmar took first place for “Erroneous Expedition”, and Sunsations of Belmar took second for “Sunny”.
And in the Family category, The Pszchielvy Family of Tinton Falls took second for “The Bat Mobile.”
Congratulations to all the winners…especially in the midst of a heatwave…for their entertaining, if fleeting, artwork!
