'Tis the season for a whole bunch of St. Nick's roaming around the Jersey Shore. It's called SantaCon.

What is SantaCon? Santacon is a charitable, non-commercial, non-political, nonsensical Santa Claus convention that happens once a year for absolutely no reason.

It's basically your chance to be Santa Claus, a reindeer, elf, or any other holiday character. Get into the Christmas spirit with your friends and strangers, while helping the community.

Each participant is urged to bring at least two cans of food or non-perishable items for the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

Asbury Park's event will take place on Saturday, December 12.

The Seaside Heights SantaCon goes down Saturday, December 19. The pub crawl begins at noon at Hooks Bar.

Funds raised for Seaside's SantaCon will go to the Toys for Tots foundation. Last year, $3,000 was raised.

The date for the Red Bank event is TBD.
