Another Food Chain Coming to Monmouth?!

We cover store and restaurant openings and closings all of the time here. I'm always asking what chain you would like to see open up shop, and it looks like one of your wishes may come true.

Shake Shack is hoping to open a location on Route 9 in Freehold very soon. The Planning Board is scheduled to set things in motion on Wednesday.

If everything goes as planned, the abandoned Getty on the corner of Route 9 and East Freehold Road will be demolished, and a glorious Shake Shack will be built.

Shake Shack started from a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park in Manhattan to support the Madison Square Park Conservancy’s first art installation. The cart was a major hit with customers lining up daily.

They have some of the best burgers around, and their milkshakes are incredible.

Here's hoping that the Planning Board gives the green light for the very first Shake Shack in Monmouth/Ocean!
