It's not just me....my sons walk into a book store and like 'real' books and magazines, even in this digital age.

Since they were young, my boys and I have spent time in book stores. It makes for a great day trip to get us out of the house and do something worthwhile.

Sure, my children LOVE technology from Apple watches to Mac books, from Kindles to video games, but that doesn't mean they have given up on book stores.

Some of our best family time is spent taking a rainy afternoon car ride to a book store with a coffee shop, grabbing a bunch of books and magazines that we are interested in, and then hanging out over coffee and tea and hot chocolate while we enjoy browsing our future purchases, or getting ideas for books we'll want to read later on.

There is something quite relaxing about this, and I treasure these moments. I'm glad that the boys will remember this quality time as part of their 'growing up years' when they become adults.

Of course, who knows if real book stores will even be around anymore by the time they have children of their own, but, for now, we still really appreciate them.

And if we can't get to a store that contains both, we will go to a small town and purchase books at the local book store, then find a local coffee shop with comfy chairs and read our new books while we sip our drinks.

In any case, it's nice to be together reading, holding a book -- appreciating how it feels and  in your hands...rather than all being together staring at our phone screens!!!!!
