Stealing a car from Hazlet was only the beginning for Monmouth County man and his two passengers who were arrested by Holmdel Police Saturday.

The driver, Anthony Hoff, 24, of Keansburg was spotted by a patrolman on duty near Palmer Avenue passing him in a 1995 Chevy Blazer.

When it came up stolen on the patrolman's scanner, he made a motor vehicle stop.

When the vehicle was pulled over around 12:45 pm, police found heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Hoff was arrested for Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of CDS/Heroin.

He was turned over to Hazlet Police for the auto theft.

Hoff's day wasn't done, at about 4:00 PM Hazlet Police were at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel with him.

Police say Hoff then allegedly became violent, threatened hospital staff and began to fight with hospital security, Hazlet and Holmdel Police Officers.

He then allegedly assaulted a hospital security officer by spitting in his face and assaulted a Hazlet Police Officer by spitting on his head.

Aggravated Assault, Harassment and Disorderly Conduct were added to Hoff's list of charges.

After that he was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution by Hazlet PD.

The passengers from his stolen car adventure were both arrested and charged but their alleged behavior ended at the traffic stop.

James Baker, 53, of Middletown was arrested for Unlawful Taking of a Means of Conveyance/Joyriding, Possession of CDS/Heroin, Tampering with Evidence, and Failure to Turn Over a Controlled Dangerous Substance to Police.

Brianne Terracciano, 22, of Keansburg was arrested on an active warrant from the Holmdel Municipal Court and was additionally charged with Unlawful Taking of a Means of Conveyance/Joyriding, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe.

She and Baker were lodged at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution.
