When a NJ man lost his wife suddenly from epilepsy, he decided to do something. He's taking part in The Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey's 2nd Annual Paint the Pony Purple benefit on Sunday, March 24th and you're invited. (Photo by DanaCentury, Flickr).

This event will welcome hundreds of families, supporters and music lovers to enjoy entertianment while promoting epilepsy awareness.

It's all part of a larger, national awareness effort for epilepsy, with concerts across the country during that weekend. "50 Concerts in 50 States" is speaheaded by an epilepsy advocate from New Jersey, Eric Miller, whose wife died suddenly from epilepsy in August of 2011.

The statistics are scary. One in ten people have had a seizure. It could happen in any family. Please show your support for this great cause and help Paint the Pony Purple.

The concert lineup includes world renowned rock guitarist Gary Hoey, NJ's beloved cover band Almost Easy, and last year's crowd favorite, the RockNRoll chorus.

Since purple is the designated color for epilepsy awareness, the Pony will offer a special purple-colored draft beer.

The event runs from 12:30 pm - 5 pm. Tickets may be purchased for $20 at www.purple.efnj.com or via telephone at (732) 528-4382.
