For some it's commuter traffic, for others it's unexpected delays. But road construction always seems to come when you're in the biggest rush!

I never leave more than five minutes extra to get somewhere. So when there is an unexpected hold up...I wanna cry!

Since I don't typically do my driving during rush hour when all the radio traffic reports run, and since my phone uses too much data to use Apple Maps which provide instant updates on construction, I have found myself stuck in the most crazy places during ridiculous road work that should be done overnight, in my opinion!

The worst was when I got stuck not once, but twice, on two different drawbridges. The one in Toms River closed one lane and then stopped all merging traffic as they tested the drawbridge one day at 11 am...and of course it was the day that I was almost out of gas and stuck at the top of the drawbridge. And the second time was in Point Pleasant at noon on a sunny summer day...again I was stuck while they tested the drawbridge at the worst possible time for me --- because I needed a bathroom REALLY badly!

What's your worst construction-traffic experience?
