Halloween is here, Haunted Hall is in full swing, and everyone is thinking about the creepy, scary stuff that makes Halloween so much fun.

There are some bone chilling stories about ghosts up and down the Jersey Shore, including one right in Middletown, at The Spy House (Seabrook-Wilson House).

The Spy House, on Port Monmouth Rd. was known to be the first house on the Jersey Shoreline, according to hauntedplaces.org. During the revolutionary war, it was a tavern and according to stories, was a place where British troops would discuss strategy. The tavern owner would reportedly pass the info along to colonial troops.

The building now has stories of five ghosts, including a sea captain, a woman wearing white and appearances by Captain Morgan who reportedly hid treasure in the basement as well as performing torture.

While we're talking about scary stuff, if you're looking for some frightening fun at the Jersey Shore, there is no place better than Haunted Hall in Asbury Park. Get your friends together and don't miss a night of scary fun!
