This precious dog is still smiling, even after having been abandoned. Meet our Point Pet of the Week. So come get Happy!Happy was brought to the Monmouth County SPCA after being found abandoned behind a local animal hospital. The shelter volunteers say this dog has a WONDERFUL disposition, and that's how the name 'Happy' came about.

The shelter crew noticed some healed wounds on the dog, which may indicate some neglect in a previous life but Happy is doing really well now. And, regardless of his past, this dog is truly a happy dog whose whole body will wiggle with excitement when he meets new people. He is just an affectionate mush who loves people and will give plenty of kisses.

The MCSPCA estimates that Happy is about 3-years old and most likely some sort of Terrier mix -- which means he is a handsome and smart young lad-- smart enough to have learned some basic commands and take apart puzzle toys! Happy has a playful side to go with his serious side and loves some play time. He also likes other dogs a lot, especially if they like to play as enthusiastically as he does!

So if you have a dog who is looking for another animal to play with, then Happy is the dog for you! But even if you don't have another dog, Happy would just as much enjoy playing a game of fetch or tug of war with some human friends.

If you'd like to meet Happy please come visit him at the Eatontown location, 260 Wall Street, 7 days a week from Noon - 5 pm with extended hours on Wednesdays 'til 7 pm. For more info call 732-542-4552 or emails adoptions@monmouthcountyspca.org.

Also, the MCSPCA will hold their annual Home for the Holidays on Dec. 3rd from Noon - 5 pm at the Eatontown location. There will be photos with Santa or a winter-themed backdrop for pets and/or family for your holiday photo.
