What an unusual face on our Point Pet of the Week! How can you resist?

Rucca is about 4 years old and came to the Monmouth County SPCA when her owner had medical problems that left her unable to care for this precious dog.

This poor dog was so frightened when she first got to the shelter that she wouldn't even go outside for a walk. But some wonderful staff members and volunteers worked hard to show Rucca that not all new things have to be scary. In fact, some new things can be really fun!

So Rucca has come a long way and is always learning new things and discovering that she doesn't have to be fearful of the unknown.

Every day is a new step forward and she is getting there! When Rucca meets new people she is still a little shy at first, but with your patience she will warm up to you once she gets to know you.

This gorgeous dog loves to give kisses once she becomes your friend. She needs a new family who will take her home and show her how much love she deserves.

Rucca is staying at the MCSPCA Eatontown location at 260 Wall Street. You can meet her 7 days a week from Noon to 5 pm (except for Thanksgiving Day.)

Also, the MCSPCA invites you to their Home for the Holidays event on Saturday, Dec. 5th, and Sunday, Dec. 6th, from noon - 5 pm. You can have your pet's photo taken with Santa, and there will also be craft vendors, a bake sale, a basket auction...and more...all at the Eatontown location at 260 Wall Street. And, if you adopt a pet that weekend, you can get a FREE picture of your new animal with Santa! Please bring a can of pet food or a small bag of dry food as a donation if you attend.
