It is beyond time that he stops getting overlooked and finds a forever home.

Rocky, our Point Pet of the Week, is only 1 and a half years old and a Terrier mix who came to the shelter from a less-than-ideal background. He was found, abandoned, in a crate in the woods. He is so sweet but can be shy when he first meets new people. But he has come a long way since the day he was found and is learning that people are not so bad after all!

Rocky, sadly, still hasn't found a loving home so we are putting his story out there again because he deserves it. Rocky has been with the Monmouth County SPCA foster care volunteers for over a year but the right adopter hasn't yet come along.

Rocky qualifies for the Canine Work In Progress Program where you can foster him for up to two months to see how he adjusts in your home with your family! During that two month period, the MCSPCA will provide both behavior and medical support for anything that comes up. That's how much the shelter wants this beautiful dog to find a great home.

It takes Rocky a long time to warm up to new people, but once he does, he will give you lots of kisses. He likes to cuddle, too. He will climb into your lap and snuggle with you on your couch. What could be better?

Rocky loves other dogs but does tend to be a very active dog so his canine sibling would need to be able to keep up with him. His volunteer foster family has taught him some tricks and he is enjoying being around other dogs, running around a yard, and going on lots of long walks. But they can't keep him and everyone is getting anxious for Rocky to get a home of his own after all this time.

If you would like to meet Rocky, please call ahead so that the foster family can bring him to the Eatontown MCSPCA branch. Call 732-542-4552 or email adoptions@monmouthcountyspca.org.

Also, King's Barber Shop in Colt's Neck will be having a Cut-a-Thon this Saturday and Sunday, June 24th and 25th to benefit the MCSPCA.
