Today is Name Yourself Day

If you could have a new name for 24 hours, what would it be?

Today is National Name Yourself Day and, since most of us did not choose our own names, here's your chance to be called something else!

Lou is very attached to his name and, because he is named after his dad and wants to respect that, he wouldn't even change his name for one day.

I, on the other hand, am not crazy about many forms of my name: Elizabeth, Liz, Betty, Beth, or Lisa (which I get called a lot, believe it or not.)

The forms of my name that I DO love are Lizzie and Izzie. (I also like my middle name, by the way, which is Anne Marie.)

So although I wouldn't change my name entirely (although when I was a kid I wanted to be called Valerie in the worst way, lol), I do love being "Auntie Izzie" to my two little nephews...and some of my closest friends and relatives use Lizzie as a nickname for me and I love that, too!
