It's no secret that I'm pretty obsessed with Red Bank, and there are several different date ideas that should work for just about anybody!

This year the big day falls on a Sunday, so chances are most people will be celebrating on Saturday the 13th, but no matter which day you choose, there are plenty of great ways to have a great time with your love.

  • 1

    The Foodie Date

Red Bank is a foodie's town, with dozens of amazing restaurants, (Nicholas, B2 Bistro, Via 45, and Dish are all incredible Valentine's date night options.) which really means that you can't go wrong no matter what you choose. But why not think outside of just dinner?

    The possibilities are endless!

    The Artsy Date

If art is your thing, there are plenty of great activities after you grab a bite to eat!

    • Enjoy some wine and snacks while you paint together at Pinot's Palette.
    • Stroll around downtown and check out some of the awesome art galleries and antiques shops.
    • Get creative and paint your own pottery at A Time to Kiln.
  • 3

    The Silly Date

It's time to channel your inner kid!

Grab some chicken fingers or grilled cheese at Hansel & Griddle or The Spot, then get ready to have some fun!

  • 4

    The Movie Date

If you're a movie buff, head to Bow Tie Cinemas on White Street for some of Hollywood's lesser-known flicks. It's a great little theater!

(And not that I would encourage sneaking food into a theater, but Chocolate Works would be a great spot to stock up on movie snacks!)

    The Music Date

Depending on what kind of music you're into, there's a few options!

    • Head to the Count Basie Theatre to check out the NJ Symphony Orchestra with Megan Hilty on Friday 2/12, or Monmouth Symphony Orchestra on Sunday 2/14
    • Enjoy live music at one of the bars downtown
    • Head to Gotham, The Downtown, or the lounge at The Belmonte for dancing!
  • 6

    The Active Date

For the couple always on the move:

    • Go ice skating at Red Bank Armory, open for public skating on Friday night and early Sunday afternoon.
    • Enjoy a yoga or pilates class at one of the studios downtown.
    • If the weather allows, enjoy a long walk (or run) throughout the town!
  • 7

    The Singles Date

If you're celebrating Single Person's Awareness Day on the 14th, you can still enjoy any number of the activities on this list with your friends!

When all else fails, there are several liquor stores in town, and the people at Yo-Mon never judge me when my cup of fro-yo is overflowing with toppings. Take the time to enjoy your fabulously free self!
