It's amazing what a dedicated team of volunteers can do when they set their minds to it.

On Wednesday, Aug 2, the Street Love Foundation, in partnership with Meals of Hope, came together at Harrah's Resort Atlantic City to make and pack 50,288 nutritious meals in 2.5 hours for local food banks and charitable institutions in the Atlantic City and Philadelphia areas, including Project HOME and AC Rescue Mission.

With the help of nearly 150 volunteers, each meal provided is high quality with a long shelf life as well as American Institute of Baking certified, which guarantees that meals are packed and distributed in line with the highest standard of processes.

Meals of Hope delivered 10,000 lbs. of food for the meals, which include oatmeal, and a rice and beans dish.

The idea sprang from the good work of volunteers from one block in Ventnor during the COVID-19 pandemic, creating the Street Love Foundation.

President and Founder Liz Schneider decided she wanted to do her part in helping vulnerable members of our local communities. She and her neighbor Jill Plotnick, Vice President of Street Love, loaded up her car trunk with 20 freshly made lunches to hand out to those in need.

The foundation has expanded more than it could have ever imagined.

Wednesday at Harrah's Resort, the team of meal makers from Street Love Foundation along with 150 volunteers including Harrah's Resort team members, 30 New Jersey State Troopers, and Pastor Lou from Church by the Bay in Galloway came together, worked hard, and got the job done for hungry people in need around Atlantic City.
