What is Next at the Site of the Old Lincroft Inn?

It is so sad to drive by the intersection of Newman Springs Road and Middletown/Lincroft Road and see nothing, when that intersection was the landmark Lincroft Inn for so many years.

That building that was torn down this past spring had been operated continuously for 319 years. (It had been around since 1697!) So it was sad to see a piece of history demolished.

Change. Like it or not, it happens.

Word has it that a new restaurant will take the place of what was there, with new owners.

The Asbury Park Press says the new place will be called The Lincroft Tavern.
