Did you know that there is an Institute For Economics and Peace? And that they've just published a Peace Index? As you probably could have guessed, our state is not among the most peaceful states in the country. But I'm sure that, like me, you DO have your own favorite peaceful place here in NJ.

This is a picture of one of my favorite peaceful places.....at one of my favorite times of day. It's the jetty at the Manasquan Inlet at sunset (looking west from the jetty to the beach and beyond to the sunset.)

I also love this same location at dawn just before sunrise. Not only is the sky beautiful, but I just love watching the big fishing boats head out for the day's catch.

Then there's the cove on the beach in Avon near the drawbridge that is so peaceful to me....again with a jetty at an inlet where the boats go in and out.

We have some beautiful parks in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, too, that I'm sure qualify as peaceful. Maybe you have a favorite tree you sit under or a favorite grassy hill that you like to spread your blanket upon.

There's also something to be said for sitting in an alcove in a comfy chair in a small coffee shop in a little town here along the shore that would go on my peaceful list.

What's your favorite peaceful spot in NJ? Or....do you want to keep it a secret? (Comment below.)
