Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey announced the charges on Wednesday morning against 45-year old Mark S. Bloom, on second-degree theft by unlawful taking.

Through their joint investigation, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and Colts Neck Police looked at all the numbers searching for evidence to confirm the allegations.

They proceeded to run a financial analysis of D’Angelico Guitars of America, a musical instrument manufacturer headquartered on Route 537, which found that at some point in the beginning of 2020 Bloom had allegedly created a new personal PayPal account and "began surreptitiously transferring funds into it from the company’s American Express business account and its PayPal business account."

Acting Prosecutor Linskey said that Bloom would then use the personal PayPal account, where he had gathered the more than $750,000, and then spent most of the embezzled funds on online gambling.

Bloom was charged via summons and is awaiting the scheduling of a hearing to take place in Monmouth County Superior Court.

He is being represented by Randolph H. Wolf, Esq., with an office in Red Bank.

The case is assigned to Assistant Prosecutor Kristen Anastos of the Prosecutor’s Office’s Financial Crimes and Public Corruption Unit.
