‘American Idol’ Brand to Have Clothing Line in April
You know how the contestants on ‘American Idol‘ always look edgy, glam and generally awesome? That look can be yours. The show is launching a clothing line!
PEOPLE reports that ‘Idol’ is extending its brand to apparel under the moniker ‘Authentic Icon.’ The line will feature separates for men and women, and from what we’ve seen, they’re pretty cool! Think skinny striped pants, off the shoulder tees, vests, and a general rock n’ roll vibe.
“It was a natural extension to partner on a line of ‘American Idol’-inspired apparel that captures the essence of our rich music, style and performance heritage,” David Luner of FreemantleMedia Enterprises (‘American Idol’’s production company) said. Additionally, the show has none other than Tommy Hilfiger on its staff as an image advisor, so you can bet the looks will be fierce. To further cross promote, contestants will don the clothing line on the show.
Like ‘AI’ judge Jennifer Lopez‘s line, ‘Authentic Icon’ will be sold at Kohl’s. The line will debut in April and showcase through June to coincide with the season’s run, so snatch ‘em up while you can!
