This is not a surprise. You've heard about the luxury liner SS Morro Castle that caught fire and sank off the coast of Asbury Park in 1934, right? Almost 140 passengers perished, but legend has it that their spirits came ashore and continue to haunt the boardwalk and beachfront.

In true Asbury style, AP embraces its spooky rep. The town holds the Guinness World Record for "largest gathering of zombies" with Zombie Walk.

A nod goes out to Sand Pond in Blairstown, NJ. It's a small town west of Newton, located in the Northwestern corner of the state, close to the Pennsylvania border. This was the setting for Friday the 13th's "Camp Crystal Lake."

Here are the 13 Scariest Beaches according to USA Today Travel:

  1.  Pea Patch Island, Del.
  2.  Rialto Beach, Wash.
  3.  Asbury Park, N.J.
  4.  Sailors' Snug Harbor, N.Y.
  5.  State Beach, Mass.
  6.  Sand Pond, N.J.
  7.  Long Beach, Calif.
  8.  Coronado Beach, Calif.
  9.  Lee Carrillo State Beach, Calif.
  10.  Playa Grande, Costa Rica
  11.  Myrtle Beach, S.C.
  12.  Seawall Boulevard, Texas
  13.  Presque Isle, Mich.

It's because of Asbury Park's haunted past, that 94.3 The Point decided to create Haunted Hall! Saturday November 1 is the last night to check out the attraction and it's "Lights Out Night!" If you thought Haunted Hall was terrifying before, try navigating through each room with just a flashlight. Tickets are sure to sell out, so get them here!
